Merlinda Bobis's literary piece entitled "The Sadness Collector" was published on december 10, 2011.The author presents the three(3) answers in the question"how does children of OFW's are affected? first is that the absence of parents, creates displacement, disruption, and changes giving arrangement. Second is that, young children view migration as a form of  abandonment. and lastly migration affects children school performance because young children assumes responsibility. The literary work take place at the main character's house who is Rica. As characterization, each character contribute sadness to Rica .Only the tale about big lady gave comfort unto Rica. Just like his father who nearly abandoned him who is supposed to be with her in time knowing that her mother is not with her side. Her mother also leave him for work even if she is not old enough to carry burdens.

Sadness Collector by Merlinda Bobis present the unexpected yet accepted outcome of diaspora. Outcome was accepted since it is really visible in human naked eye that when there is someone who is moving away for some reason that will take long period of time (e.g Years) it will cause family problem because when someone in relationship are far from each other affect the internal strong connection of each even married persons and they begin trusting those people who are quiet near from them not knowing if what they say are real or false and worst is will reason for third party. Another outcome will increase the country's economic growth because once someone send money or something through remittance center it will charge TAX/VAT in the government and interest in the remittance. The collected charge for VAT/TAX will be the reason of our country's economic growth and some reason diaspora will cause every child whom left by their parents for working overseas feel alone, more likely abandoned and begin to envy others who have complete family and put repentance to their parents for leaving the away which made them feel those thing. Children are used to be with parents as they grown up but the absence of their parents especially their mother, will be a big deal from them and will cause big change unto their attitude and etiquette. Those are just some result of diaspora but for those who work and was left behind rake this as unexpected because in the very first place each of them only think of working abroad as extra source of income to sustain their child and themselves needs. they don't expect the money they send will be cause of economic growth, their family became unstrong as it not use to it and event the negative effect of it to their child.
As a proof of the my statement it is counted that out of 2.3 million overseas filipino worker, 80% of them experience family trouble and found out that their is a big changes from their children treat unto them and how children see them and talk to them seems like they are other person.

Sadness Collector by Merlinda Bobis present the unexpected yet accepted outcome of diaspora. In some reason, it is accepted since it is seen, proved and being noticed in anyone's eye  and unexpected they don't think of it as primary reason of doing so but it is  meant happen and will somewhat  goes through it. It was well presented and explain in her literary works that diaspora and working abroad has advantage and advantages to be accepted and outcome to be unexpected
